I'm a member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), and like every mortgage broker I'm legally required to act in your best interests.

FAQ

Quick answers

How much does a mortgage broker cost?

In most cases nothing directly. The lender you choose pays the broker an upfront and ongoing commission. We disclose the amount before you apply. In rare cases, such as complex commercial deals, a fee may apply and we'll agree it with you first.

How much deposit do I need to buy in Sydney?

Usually 5–20% of the price. Under the Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme, eligible first home buyers can buy with a 5% deposit and no lenders mortgage insurance. In Sydney, the property price cap is $1.5 million.

Are mortgage brokers regulated?

Yes. Brokers must hold an Australian Credit Licence or be an authorised credit representative under one, and must act in your best interests under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act.
